Day 1 – Ship Cove to Punga Cove (via Furneaux Lodge)

Make your way to Wilderness Guides HQ
on the waterfront and after an extensive briefing, depart on the
water taxi to Ship Cove where
your bike begins. Visit the memorial to Captain Cook
and learn about the historical significance of this place to local Maori before
beginning your ride. Climb through virgin forest to the Ship Cove platform
where the reward is a view towards Motuara Island with Kapiti Island, off the
coast of the North Island, visible on a clear day. Descend into Resolution Bay with some

rocky sections to navigate and then begin a fairly long but moderate climb to

Tawa Saddle before the downhill towards Endeavour Inlet.  Stop for a cool

drink at Furneaux Lodge before continuing your ride around the head of
Endeavour Inlet over a mainly flat wide section of track to Camp Bay. Just a
few minutes onwards is Punga Cove, your accommodation for this evening.

Day 2 - Punga Cove to Torea Saddle/Portage Bay

A challenging but rewarding day on the
ridgeline between Punga Cove & Torea Saddle. Truly grand views abound round
every corner – a wonderful reward indeed. Stare in awe at the sunken river
valleys of the Marlborough Sounds from the iconic Eatwell’s Lookout. At
different times you can see both the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds as you
walk. This is a truly spectacular section of the track. Those who feel like a
day’s rest today can opt for a boat ride around the bays’ of the Queen
Charlotte Sound. At the end of today's walk, continue down from Torea Saddle to
the Portage Hotel.

Day 3 – Torea Bay to Picton/Ngakuta Bay

Your kayak is delivered to Torea Bay this morning (near Portage) for your independent kayak around the picturesque bays and coves of Queen Charlotte Sound concluding to either Ngakuta Bay or Picton Harbour (weather dependent).

There are numerous bays and coves to explore along the way and lunch can be had at a secluded beach of your choice. Be on the look-out for dolphins and little blue penguins as well as New Zealand fur seals on the points you pass.

A wonderful way to finish three days of adventure!
